When it comes to selecting ingredients for our candles, I, Kasey, the founder and hand-maker, wanted to ensure that I chose the highest quality ingredients possible! Having spent years working in the health and fitness industry, I believe it is important to use products with the best ingredients for our wellness and longevity. I searched to find the most non-toxic products possible. Here are some specifics about our candle ingredients and packaging:
OUR WAX
When I was looking for my wax, I knew I wanted to go as natural as possible. I first started working with soy, but it gave me headaches when I used it. After further research, I found out that many people are sensitive to soy. I wanted to find an alternative, and was intrigued by the uniqueness of a coconut-apricot wax, and that is what I eventually stuck with!
Our luxurious Coconut-Apricot Cream wax is vegan, gluten-free, toxin-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, and comes from renewable sources. It is made with a miniscule amount of food-grade paraffin wax to enhance the performance and give an excellent hot throw. The highly refined food-grade nature of our paraffin puts it in the natural category, and no candle wax has ever been shown to be harmful to human health, including paraffin. Even so, we still try to keep things as natural as possible! Which is also why we don't add colored dyes to our wax.
OUR WICKS
When thinking about wicks, I knew I wanted to go with wood wicks because of the beautiful ambiance and crackling they bring to a room. You get to enjoy a multi-sensory experience of smell, sound and sight that takes you right into your next adventure. Sourced from FSC certified mills and manufactured in the USA, our wooden wicks are a sustainable, natural, and eco-friendly.
OUR FRAGRANCE
When it came to making candles, the ingredient I felt deserved the most of my attention and research was the fragrance. Toxic ingredients in candles are most often found in the fragrance used. Because of this, all our fragrance blends are phthalate-free and exclude hazardous materials included on California’s Prop 65 list. Materials known to be carcinogens in California aren’t any safer elsewhere! Most of our fragrances are infused with essential oils and can be enjoyed guilt-free!
OUR PACKAGING
Our packaging is eco-friendly! We've switched from lids to dust covers to reduce the amount of materials used in candle creation. The jars and tins are perfect for reuse in creating your own treasure boxes. To clean and reuse, place the candle in the freezer overnight without a lid. In the morning, use a butter knife and cut an "X" in the wax. With the wax sliced, it should come out of the candle jar in no time at all! Get as much wax out as possibly. Use rubbing alcohol if needed to get extra wax out, then wash in the dishwasher.
